Underoath is recording new material for the first time without founding member and drummer Aaron Gillespie. Currently recording drums with the band is Daniel Davison, formerly of Norma Jean. The band plans to release the currently untitled new album, the followup to Lost In the Sound of Separation, before the end of 2010.

Stone Temple Pilots have announced the details of their North American headline tour which will begin on Tuesday, August 10 at Denver, Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre and then continue through late summer. Joining STP on all dates will be special guests Cage The Elephant.

Paramore singer Hayley Williams claims a hacker posted the now widely-spread topless picture of her through her Twitter account late last night.  Possibly an accident on her part, as she did mention getting a new Blackberry recently.  Either way, it’s pretty much confirmed that it is a real photo of her boobs and not another photoshop hack job.

Paul Gray, founding bassist and co-founder of metal band Slipknot was found dead yesterday morning, May 24, 2010  in a hotel room in Urbandale, IA. He was 38.

Gray’s body was found at about 10:50 a.m. by a hotel employee. Police reportedly found no evidence of foul play, but continue to investigate. An autopsy, including toxicology tests, is scheduled to take place sometime today.

Paul Gray’s wife Brenna is expecting the couple’s first child sometime this year. Read a late-2010 blog post by Gray here.

Canadian Thrash band Annihilator is looking for an experienced, skilled professional bassist. Applicants must be able to commit 100% to the band, be available for extensive global touring from April 2010 onwards (valid passport), preferably a resident of Canada, and have touring experience.

The audition “song” will be “Phantasmagoria” (live version). See video below for Annihilator founder/guitarist Jeff Waters demonstrating the song’s bass lines.
