Canadian Thrash band Annihilator is looking for an experienced, skilled professional bassist. Applicants must be able to commit 100% to the band, be available for extensive global touring from April 2010 onwards (valid passport), preferably a resident of Canada, and have touring experience.
The audition “song” will be “Phantasmagoria” (live version). See video below for Annihilator founder/guitarist Jeff Waters demonstrating the song’s bass lines.

Metal band Shadows Fall have announced their first-ever headlining tour of Canada. With support from Bison B.C. and Baptized In Blood, the tour will kick off on Wednesday, February 24 in Calgary, Alberta. Special guest Goatwhore will be on the first six West Coast dates only.

The band formally known as Initials, a supergroup featuring Fred Mascherino (Taking Back Sunday), Andy Jackson (Hot Rod Circuit) and Josh Eppard (Coheed And Cambria), have changed their name to Terrible Things.

According to an Angels & Airwaves (guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge’s other band) press release, Blink 182 won’t be releasing their new album until 2011. The release said:
“Meanwhile, DeLonge says that Blink-182 is planning to record its new album soon and is talking with its label, Interscope, about a 2011 release. The group also intends to play European festival dates this summer.”
Its been seven years since Blink 182 last released an album.

The upcoming Soundgarden reunion seems to be the real deal.

This would lead fans to believe that the original Soundgarden line-up of Ben Shepherd (bass), Chris Cornell (vocals/guitar), Kim Thayil (guitar) and Matt Cameron (drums) will hit the road together for a tour later this year.
