Rage Against the Machine beat X Factor in UK

After a Facebook campaign designed to block another X Factor chart-topper, rock band Rage Against The Machine emerges as the winner of the most competitive battle in years for the Christmas No. 1 slot against previous X Factor champions.
The band’s single, “Killing In The Name”, sold just over 500,000 downloads, beating X Factor winner Joe McElderry’s “The Climb” by 50,000 copies to clinch the top spot.
Rage singer Zack de la Rocha said the band would perform a free concert in the UK in 2010 to celebrate their chart win.
