The upcoming Soundgarden reunion seems to be the real deal.

A recent mailing list post reads: “Thanks to all for signing up. Stay tuned for more details! Loudest of Love – Ben, Chris, Kim and Matt.”

This would lead fans to believe that the original Soundgarden line-up of Ben Shepherd (bass), Chris Cornell (vocals/guitar), Kim Thayil (guitar) and Matt Cameron (drums) will hit the road together for a tour later this year.

According to the New York Post, Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell and his wife, Vicky, are furious after discovering their wedding video was being offered on Craigslist as macabre “lost” footage of dead starlet Brittany Murphy, who was a maid of honor at their 2004 ceremony. Cornell reportedly claimed the video was stolen and he threatened to sue the popular site, which has removed the video from sale. A source told the New York Post, “The video features behind-the-scenes wedding moments, many of Brittany Murphy.” Cornell apparently asked Craigslist to hand over details of the seller, arguing that it’s a federal crime because it’s considered stolen copyright.

Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell has announced that the band is officially reuniting. On New Year’s Eve, Cornell tweeted: “The 12 year break is over & school is back in session. Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!” He also included a link to a brand new site for fans to sign up for all upcoming Soundgarden reunion updates.

While Soundgarden hasn’t perfomed since 1997, the band members have kept busy with a variety of bands and musical projects. Cornell spent much of the break fronting Audioslave, a group featuring several members of Rage Against The Machine. Guitarist Kim Thayil contributed his skills to SunnO)))/Boris, while drummer Matt Cameron has been the permanent drummer for Pearl Jam since 1998.
