Check out behind-the-scenes footage of Tokio Hotel’s “World Behind My Wall” music video.  Instead of post-production special effects, the band is literally surrounded by fire and sparks throughout the shoot.  Between the intense heat and a serious looking leg burn, the band manages to finish this dangerous looking video shoot.

They are currently Germany’s most successful band, their 3rd album “Humanoid” was just released, in February they will go on a big tour.

Bild: have you ever taken a hearing test after all these years of girls screaming?

Tom: “No, but Bill and I have had bad hearing since birth. that is why we talk so loud.”

Bill: “Yeah, and if it has gotten worse, then the reason is that we listen to super loud music and it is not because of the screaming. That is the most awesome thing that exists. We like it, that our fans scream out their emotions.”

Bild: You are playing in the color line arena on february 28. What do the fans have to look forward to?

Bill: “Not just a live concert, but also a very very big show. Together with a Londoner stage designer we have designed a really cool stage. With pyrotechnics, LED-wall and a lot of moving elements. We will be touring with 2 tour buses and more than 10 trucks.”

Bild: Changing the subject. Bill, is it true you have not had a girlfriend since you were 15?

Bill: “Yeah.”

Bild: No time?

Bill: “It is not just that. When I am really in love, I let everything be, I would leave the town or country. But because I don’t go out much, I don’t have the opportunity to meet someone or to intensify contacts, only with other stars or a team member. ”

Bild: What does she have to be like?

Bill: “I can not say anything about looks. with me it is love at first sight. I have to have the feeling right away, that I can trust her. And she should be spontaneous and a positive look at life.”

Bild: how about the love life of the others?

Georg: “I have a steady girlfriend for about a year now.”

Tom: “Except for Georg we are all single. I have never been in love in my life so far. That has nothing to do with looks, there are a lot of pretty women. With me, the entire package has to be right.”

First up is a transcript of the telephone interview with VJ Chino at MYX Philippines:

VJ Chino : Oh your video Automatic is currently at #3 here in MYX chart.. Any message
for your fans voting for your video?

Bill : That sounds really really great. so we wanna say “Thank You”. We’re
really excited about that and we have to see our fans very soon..

VJ Chino: Who came up with the concept of the video of automatic where you guys have like a big robot?

Bill : We shot the video in South Africa. We had the idea that we wanna have robots because we’re not really good actors.

VJ Chino: Alright. So let’s backtrack a bit. So, what was the story behind the name “Tokio Hotel”?

Bill : We travel the world and sleep in hotels. We play concerts everywhere so that’s
why we chose “Hotel”.

Tom : And “Tokio” just because of the town. We wanted a town that we don’t know.

VJ Chino : Did you guys expect to be this big internationally, not just in Germany?

Bill : we never expected that we’ll have the chance to get successful in Germany. And then we became successful in some other countries. It was really unexpected.

VJ Chino : Alright, so which bands or artist do you guys look up to? Like your favorite band?

Bill : I think there’s not one band because we are all really different when it comes to our music taste. My favorite bands at the moment are the Stereophonics and Kings of Leon.

VJ Chino : And for bill, how does it feel like a lot of people are copying your style?

Bill : It’s also kind of a compliment when other people try to copy your style. It has to be good so thank you for that.

VJ Chino : And lastly what’s your message for your Filipino fans especially the members of the Tokio Hotel Official Philippine Fan Club?

Bill : We wanna say “Thank You” for your support so far. It’s really unexpected that we have fans over there. It’s really cool to hear that and we’re so grateful. We wanna come out there definitely. Maybe in the beginning of the next year. We’ll come out there and have the chance to meet our fans.

Bill Kaulitz: “It’s a miracle, that I’m still alive!”

He crashed his car into the railing.

This horror accident has him marked for life!

Rockstar Bill Kaulitz of Tokio Hotel, was caught in a traffic accident last week at the A24 with his Audi Q7 and crashed into the railing. His car was totalled.

In BILD Bill talks exclusively about the accident and how he survived the crash.

The singer: “I think about the accident every day. I think, I will need a while to work through this. It is still very deep in me. I thought I would never get out alive. I have definately never been this close to death. It is a miracle that i am still alive. In moments like these, you realize what is really important and you re-evaluate your life.”

What exactly happened that afternoon?

Bill: I was alone in the car and on the way to Berlin. I am basically a very careful driver, have never had an accident and never drive too fast. All of a sudden a car drove onto my lane without using the blinklight. I tried to steer clear and went into a skid.

Bill hit the brakes, tried to stop the car. Then he crashed into the rail.

Bill: In that moment you just try to save your life. With another car the outcome could have been different. I don’t even have a scratch.

What did Bill do when the car stopped?

Bill: I immediately tried to get out of the car. I used all my force to break the door open and called the police on my cellphone. I was completely shaken up and in shock. The police tried to calm me down on the telephone.

Bills relatives immediately traveled to Bill to Berlin, to be there for him and to calm him down.

Bill: My brother Tom was incredibly worried. I kept seeing the images in front of my eyes and did not sleep. They all supported me and tried to build me up.

Despite the shock-experience Bill performed the next day at the MTV awards in Berlin, accepting the award for best band.

Tokio Hotel producer and manager David Jost to Bild: “We strictly adviced Bill, to cancel the performance because of the accident. But eventhough the accident was a huge shock to Bill, he insisted on performing”.

In the beginning of next year, Germany’s most succesful rockband will be on the german roads again, this time not in a personal vehicle but in a huge tourbus. On february 26 they will have a big concert in Oberhausen and on the 28th they will play a concert in Hamburg.
